Levee Ready Columbia and the Multnomah County Drainage District were honored to take part in the Vanport Mosaic Festival this year as a part of a panel discussion entitled “Lessons from Vanport & Katrina: A forum on disaster resilience.”
The panel featured Vanport Flood survivor Mariah Taylor, Hurricane Katrina survivor Chuk Barber, Sisters of the Road houseless neighbor activist Barbra Weber, and environmental risk and disaster response experts from Multnomah County Drainage District, Levee Ready Columbia, and the Multnomah County Office of Emergency Management.
